The Seale Bolthole
Our caravan is not rented out commercially, it is only offered to friends and family at a significantly subsidised rate to allow us to cover part of the annual service charge, whilst having the flexibility to use it as and when we want. This means that you will need to bring your own linen and towels, duvets and pillows are provided.
There are also no pre-arranged cleaning services. More information on this is detailed below.
Kitchen/ Lounge/ Decking
The caravan is fully equipped with kitchen utensils and appliances. It does not have a washing machine or dishwasher. A coin operated laundry room is available opposite the reception should you need to wash anything during your stay.
There is a microwave, toaster, fridge/ freezer, and a double oven with gas hob. Instruction manuals can be found in the bottom draw under the TV.
There is a small table in the kitchen with seating for 4 people.
Please help yourself to any food, condiments, cleaning products etc. Please bring your own tea towels.
The lounge consists of a L shaped sofa which seats about 6 people. The longer part of the sofa opens out into a sofa bed. There is an electric fire which is operated from a remote control which can be found above the TV. There is also an airer available to hang up wet clothes.
The WiFi onsite is not great. You will need to get the latest WiFi password from reception. There are ongoing plans to upgrade the WiFi but it has yet to happen. If you have a mobile or portal WiFi hub it is worth bringing this. Due to poor WiFi, access to on demand TV on the TV is temperamental. We have a DVD player plus a selection of child and adult DVDs for your use.
The lounge opens out to an extra large decking area. There is a round table and seating for 6. Cushions to the seats can be found in the storage seat box by the entrance to the caravan. There is also a large umbrella for shade. The decking is in the sun all day.
In the storage unit and under the decking you will find crabbing equipment, nets, balls, water shoes, a BBQ, collapsible chairs and a beach umbrella etc. You are welcome to use any of these items, but we kindly ask you to return them after use minus the bait!
If you use the BBQ, we normally set it up on the decking, but please ensure that you place the BBQ on the black rubber roll mat which you will find under the caravan.
In the hallway is a thermostat, the heating is on constant, so you just need to adjust the thermostat up and down to turn the heating off and on. It heats up very quickly. The hot water is on 'constant'.
Bedrooms
The master bedroom has a double bed, and en-suite toilet. You will need to bring a king size sheet and duvet cover for this bed. Whilst the bed is only a double, a mattress topper means that a larger sheet is needed. The duvet is king size. Pillow cases x 2 or 4 if you want double pillows.
There is a wardrobe with a draw set, and shelves for storing clothes. A hairdryer is available in the cupboard. Some wet suits are stored in the cupboard but hopefully there is still enough space. You are welcome to use any wet suits you find.
There is also a de-humidifier which helps speed up the drying of wet clothes in the winter months.
The middle room has 2 x caravan singles. These are very narrow beds and ideal for small children. There is a small cupboard for clothes. These beds require single size sheets, covers and pillow cases.
The bedroom closest to the kitchen contains 1 x caravan single and 1 x standard single bed. Both take single size sheets and duvet covers.
The seat next to the sofa bed contains the extra pillows and duvet you may need should you decide to use the sofa bed.
Under some of the beds you will find storage boxes. Here we have left some spare clothes as well as towels and bed linen. Should you forget anything, you are welcome to use anything you find but please ensure you return them to us.
There are 8 pillows, 4 single duvets and 2 king size duvets in the caravan.
Bathroom
The bathroom contains a toilet, sink and shower. Spare toilet rolls are in the cupboard under the sink. You will need to bring your own bath towels, hand towels and beach/ pool towels.
Cleaning
At the end of your stay you will be required to clean the caravan to a professional standard ready for the next person. Depending on when the next person is arriving (we can tell you this), you may have the option of using an external cleaner. Please give us advance warning as to whether you would like to use the external cleaner at the end of your stay. The cost is £45 and you will need to leave cash on the table at the end of your stay. NOTE this service is not always available, so please don't bank on it! Most cleaning materials and equipment are under the sink or in the boiler cupboard.
Rubbish and recycling bins are located at the site entrance.
Parking
There is room for one car to the rear of the caravan in its designated spot. If you have another car, please ask reception where you are best parking it. Our lease does not permit tents or sleeping in camper vans on the premises. There is currently no electric recharging points at the site. The closest is Tesco's Extra which is about a 10 minute drive away.
Smoking inside the caravan is not permitted.
Dogs
We welcome dogs, but please no sitting on the sofa or beds! The resort requires dogs to be on leads at all times when walking around. The caravan entrance has a gate allowing the decking area to be secured. Please note that when the weather is hot, the inside of the caravan can get very hot too!
The local beach, The Duver, is the main dog friendly beach on the Island. Other beaches allow dogs but please ensure you look up seasonal restrictions.
Swimming pool
The pool is open most days, please check times with reception on your arrival. These are typically 9-5. A lifeguard is onsite most of the time. The pool is kept at 31 degrees. Balls and inflatables are allowed in the pool. There are sun loungers around the pool.
You will need to bring the following:
A king size sheet and duvet cover and pillow cases for the master bedroom.
4 x single sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases.
The sofa bed in the lounge is queen size, but there is a king size duvet. If you plan on using this please bring the appropriate size linen.
